For this Imbolc rite we’ll be using the folklore of this tide and of the goddess Brigid to inspirit your corn dolly so that she may bring you blessings, wellness, and fortune during the year! This ritual is meant to be preformed with friends and family but you could also do it alone in a solitary matter.
To begin you’ll want to visit one of her various holy wells to baptize the dolly in her name. If you don’t have access to a holy well you could substitute with a bowl of spring water and fresh flowers.

Approach the sacred site and pray to the goddess about what you wish to imbue your corn dolly with. You can ask her for better health, to multiply your fortune, peace in the home, or whatever comes to mind. Baptize the corn dolly when you’re finished and be sure to thank her.
Place your corn dolly with everyone else’s dolly around a small tealight, once it's done you’ll need three volunteers to be the triad of brigids. You can call upon a maiden, mother, and crone; a poet, metalsmith, and healer; or conversely three males but ideally you’ll want three volunteers regardless.
Once the three volunteers have been picked you’ll have them hold each other's wrist with one hand, forming a triangular sign. As the triad recites the following they should make their wrists move in a clockwise fashion to conjure and consecrate the items. When they’re ready, let the triad say the following:
By the power of three, I conjure thee,
O’ ancient goddess hear me.
High exalted Brigid, bringer of hearthfire,
Who multiples the flock and attracts what we desire.
Brigid wise and Brigid young,
Bless this dolly so it could be hung.
Weave it with your magick and warm embrace,
So you may bring your blessings into my place.
Have the triad repeat this three times total and then after the last chant has been spoken have everyone hold their hands towards the dollies and then recite:
By the power of three formed into one
This song of saining has been done
To bring back the light to scatter the dark
As we chant hand and hand, and heart to heart.
Blessed the Mother Goddess, Blessed Brigid!
Wrap it up by passing around the corn dollies and eat some good meal and drink! After the ritual you could place your corn dolly above the door or in the living room to attract the goddess into your home. Traditionally the dolly would be hung there until the next imbolc but you could keep it up until Lughnasadh, once it’s time to take down the old dolly you would bury it in your fields or garden to promote fertility there. Some people even burn their old dolly for good luck and spread the ashes around the hearth and home.

Some other things to ensure Brigid stops by is to leave out a candle by the windowsill so it catches her attraction. Folklore also insists that you could even tie a piece of cloth, a ribbon, or a scarf outside on a branch or to a bush so that it may be blessed by the Goddess as she passes by. Allegedly it could be used to ward off as a cure for headaches and sore throats.
