Free spell for March: Awakening the inner self

The objective of this month's spell is to awaken the inner aspect of ourselves for the coming spring. This aspect may come in many names like a fetch, the nefesh in Kabbalistic traditions, or the ib in ancient Egyptian mythology- but simply put this is the aspect of a person that is responsible for ones' instincts, physical desires, and vital energy.

After the winter we find ourselves in a state of stillness with our ambitious, plans, manifestations, and goals- therefore in this ritual I want us to speak to this inner aspect to reinvigorate it and to honor what it has done to keep us alive and well during the winter. To begin you'll want to place yourself in a dark room with nothing but a tealight anointed with an oil (spiritual power, sandalwood, or your own zodiac are great choices), and a clear quartz crystal.

You'll want to place the tealight behind you and light it, place the crystal in your hands, turn off the lights and position yourself so that your shadow is projected before you. Look at this figure and its shape, understand it is the raw primal version of you, the version of yourself that is the embodiment of your needs and wants. Welcome this figure and acknowledge what you overcame from the winter and the start of this year, give yourself praise for it.

The intial feeling might feel good at first, but understand that this part of yourself cannot truly feel satisfied still until it has completed what you desire. Therefore you can uplift its burden by speaking to it uncompleted future goals/ plans as if you already completed them, affirming them and instilling that motivation to get that fire under your ass to get it done! With each affirmation feel this energy being uplifted and making you feel passionate for what you want to achieve, for an example:

Say "I got that job" versus "I'm getting that job"

"Everyone loves me" versus "Everyone will love me"

"I am whole and healed" versus "I am getting better"

After you feel confident enough to end the ritual you can take a few moments to further honor/ uplift your inner self by feeling the gentle warmth of the candles' light. Give it that sense of comfort and that reassurance, and when you're ready go ahead and let the candle burn out. The crystal you held onto can be a conduit to channel your motivation through whenever you feel yourself on the verge of a burnout, so hold onto it whenever you need a little push for the day.
